Bathing Babies Safely
Posted: February 19, 2008Who would have ever thought that bathing a baby could be so much fun ? Giving your baby a bath can be a bright spot in the middle of an otherwise tiring day.
However, there are some dangers involved with babies and water that parents need to pay attention to. Here are four simple tips to remember how to make bath time a safe time:
1. Never leave your baby unsupervised. Not even for a minute. If the phone rings and you feel you have to get it, wrap your baby up and take him with you.
2. Make sure his tub is safe. There are rubber tubs that are a perfect fit for babies.
3. Never fill your baby’s tub with more than a few inches of water. It does not take much water to get an infacnt scrubbed clean.
4. Always test temperature of the water before putting your baby in the bath. The water should be warm and comfortable to the touch. Babies are much more sensitive to heat than adults.
