Decluttering Your Life
Posted: February 12, 2008What would you say is the most common cause of stress among women ?
Experts say it is clutter. According to author Barbara Hemphill, the more stuff you accumultae, the more stressed you will feel.
And the less likely you will be to function effectively.
She gives some good advice on how to declutter your world and destress your life.
First create a vision . Think about what an ideal home life or work space would look like.
Second, stop making excuses. It doesn’t help to justify a cluttered space by saying. ” I am just a pack rat. ” or ” I will get around it tomorrow. ”
The sooner you stop putting things off the better.
Third, put it on your schedule and hold yourself to it. It is important how quickly you get things orgnaised, only that youi have a specific plan on your calender.
Fourth, create a good filing system. Have a place for everything.
And finally, do not be afriad to throw a few things away.
Great points. Barbara has written a number of great books. I believe you are quoting from “Taming the Paper Tiger at Home.”
