$128 Voucher blessings
Posted: August 26, 2007There are lots of freebies given out from the merchants in order to get you sign up with their services, especially in the Banking services. I got my S$128 shopping voucher in CK Tang (One of Singapore most popular household brand ) along Orchard Road from HSBC for some services my husband and I signed up recently. As usual, wife gets to keep the voucher and spent it, not the husband. This voucher has been in my wallet for a nearly a month. You may ask why ? The reason is unexplainable. I just not feel like shopping at all, not even an urge to go downtown or the branch nearer to my office to shop. But I did not realise that delay spending has brought me more blessings….
Timing of happenings in our life is sometimes unpredictable. When I do not have to work so hard to plan and shop for the sake of shopping. Blessings came. This $128 voucher is an example. This shopping voucher expires on September 07. As mentioned, I did not have desire to spend it at any times at all until yesterday 26th August 07( few days before September expiry).
We were downtown for brunch (common among Singaporean especially during weekends) at a famous Chinese Dim Sum restuarant opposite CK Tang. My Shu Umera Facial Foundation base is less than half full. So I thought, might just as well bring my daughter to this shopping centre to buy this and get her some presents( since she have behave well during lunch, especially respectful to her granddaddy). I got a bonus when I went to the counter to pay for all items (after carefully calculated all the listed prices on the tag). The cashier told me that this is a period of sale, all the items I bought are on discount. I can spent some $20 more on another item to fully redeem my voucher. So infact, my voucher is worth $148 instead!
Well, firstly I did not read the papers or receive any mailers that CK Tang is having a Sale Secondly, it never cross my mind that the items I picked are on sale( not the Shu Umera facial product).Thirdly, I wasn’t sure if I want to buy anything I really need( My facial foundation is still half full.) This is good surprises. This is one of the very less stressful and happy shopping experience I have. Instead of overspending during sale, I felt I have extra bonuses buy spending on the limit of the voucher.
Well, ask me what I bought with the extra $20. It is 2 sets of pyamas for my daughter which is also on sale!
