Creating your own Scrap book

It’s a good time to start doing scrap book with your child. Spring is here and soon many plants and flowers will blossom and bloom.

A scrap book done ( DIY ) is a good educational tool to bring along for every occasion. Encourage your child to write their journal or thoughts, draw and scratch what’s in their thoughts and what they see and feel onto the scrapped book.

Recently, I did a scrap book with my daughter using simple items.

5-6 pieces of A4 size colour pages ( about 75 gsm)

Glue,

Colourful markers

Scissors, colour pages

She wanted a flower based scrap book. Using the small pieces of origami flowers. We make morning glory creepers, tulips and sun flowers. I help her with some folding and the rest of the tasks are hers to cut and paste and choose the colours to match.

She is so into this that the second page was dedicated to cats! I told her I couldn’t fold 3 -D cats. Instead we draw and cut and paste cats figures instead. We ended up having nearly 6-7 cats on the scrap books which she named each one of them.

It was a fun weekend afternoon to spent with her doing this.
