Kids Performing - MAMMA MIA! - A BroadwayKids Workshop
Posted: March 24, 2009That’s what I signed up for my daughter this March holiday.
I know my daughter loves to sing and dance. Though I have withdrawn her from ballet, her passion for singing and dancing is still there since young. This holiday, I decided to sign her up for a holiday class. A musical workshop for children.
With this goal in mind, I surf the net looking for a suitable workshop for her since begining of mid Feburary. I came across Kids Performing. http://www.kidsperforming.com/index.php
I thought it was a great idea to let her try some broadway musical kind of workshop. This is with the aim of boosting her confidence and wipe away her shyness among strangers and on stage.
The feedback from her was great !. She said she learnt how to sing ABBA’s song and learnt how to dance to this music. The children are taught for a 2.5 hours and the last 20 minutes, they were to come out on the stage to perform. I was not there but her grandfather was there. He said she sang the loudest and she is not shy to perform with the rest of the 10 kids in front of the parents on the stage. Bravo !
This was what I hope to achieve. To let her boost her confidence in front of stranger, to enable her to enjoy and participate in some lessons that she enjoyed and look forward to and to let her have a taste of something different ( so as to check out if she has a talent for such ).
Well, are there more lessons for normal days. I think so, but will I place her in these class; I may not. I want to spent more time with her during weekends and her weekdays are quite packed with swimming and other classes. One of the class or lesson have to go if she will to take a long term course on BroadwayKids™.
