Why parents whom teach honesty and integrity are not practicing as so

This is an interesting comment made by my work friend, Sal. He is frustrated that people does not tell the truth. He called those in the office cowards!

Why are these people in the office not walking the talk when they teach their children so. Well, I am not there to comment others  but I do remember instances that I also did the same.

Case One.

I have a deep discussion with my hubby after this inccident. I said we must set good example to our daughter. We should not have told the waitress that she is five when she is six. Even though she is a small eater, we should still pay the child price for that buffet.

Case Two.

It does hurt my sister but to let her know the truth is better. In the end, she gets a better birthday present from my Dad. My dad gave me semi-precious stone ring for birthday. It is something he has picked especially for me. It does not worth a lot but it is something to me as he always remembered my birthday and pick jewellery that I would like. However, he told me not to tell my other sisters incase they get jealous. My daughter, being a child and herself, leaked out that the ring I worn was a birthday present from my dad to me. My sister felt lousy and said that I am the only apple of my dad’s eyes. However, after I spoke to my dad. He is parting one of his favourite jade to my sister. Lesson is whatever, it is my dad loves us all.

It is important and be reminded that we as parents need to walk the talk. Children learnt from us. If we depends on others and too concerns about others feelings and tell a lie. We are setting the wrong examples.

But for all things that happened, I know I have the forgiven of God and I have made right with Him once again. Thank you Heavenly Father- Daddy.
